From United Way and the Alliance for Information and Referral Systems (AIRS)

Every day someone in the community needs essential services, from finding child-care programs or assistance with elderly family members, to disaster assistance. In many cases, people do not know where to call for help, and may go without services because they do not know where to begin.

2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with important community resources.   While services vary from community to community, callers may receive information about:

Basic Human Needs: food banks, clothing, shelter, housing assistance

Physical and Mental Health Resources: medical information lines, crisis services, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol intervention, child and maternal health programs, health insurance programs

Employment Support: unemployment benefits, financial assistance, job training, educational programs, transportation assistance

Support for Older Americans or Persons with Disabilities: home health care, day care, Meals on Wheels, respite care, transportation assistance

Support for Youth and Families: Quality child care, Head Start, family resource centers, summer camps, recreational programs, mentoring, tutoring, protective services

Volunteer Opportunities and Donations

When in doubt, call 2-1-1!
