Mansfield Children
Are Successful - Please keep in
mind the following tips to prepare your child for a positive
test-taking MCAS experience.
 |
Make sure your child gets a good night
sleep the night before and eats a healthy breakfast. |
 |
See that your child arrives at school on
time. |
 |
Comfort counts. Send a sweater if
it's a cool day. Dress in layers for a warm day. |
 |
Encourage your child to do the best work
possible and to have a positive attitude. |
 |
Encourage your child to read and listen
carefully to all test-taking directions and ask questions
if any directions are unclear. |
 |
Remind your child not to get stuck on any
one item. |
 |
Encourage your child to check answers for
accuracy. |
 |
For the success of our students, all
sections of the test must be completed. |

Cafeteria and recess monitors – are needed to help

working on an as-needed basis for two and a half-hours per
day, see Assistant Principal Teresa Murphy for an application.
This is a great opportunity for "stay-at-home"
parents to work for a brief period of time and contribute to
your child’s school while making a little extra money.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are visiting your child’s classroom
for a special activity, please use the parking lots rather
than leaving your car in the drop-off lane. The Mansfield
Police Department makes frequent checks and they will issue
citations.

SHOULD KIDS LOVE TO LEARN?
All parents should want to inspire a love of learning in
their children. Why? Because according to author Ben Dean in Learning
About Learning in the Authentic Happiness Coaching
newsletter, individuals who love learning are likely to:
 | Feel positive when they have to learn new things. |
 | Persevere, despite difficulties and challenges. |
 | Work autonomously. |
 | Be filled with a sense of great possibilities. |
 | Be resourceful. |
 | Feel supported. |
So what makes people take ownership of their own learning?
Dean says that three things are essential:
