Cafeteria and recess monitors – are needed to help with supervision during these times. If you are interested in working on an as-needed basis for two and a half-hours per day, see Assistant Principal Teresa Murphy for an application. This is a great opportunity for "stay-at-home" parents to work for a brief period of time and contribute to your child’s school while making a little extra money.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are visiting your child’s classroom for a special activity, please use the parking lots rather than leaving your car in the drop-off lane. The Mansfield Police Department makes frequent checks and they will issue citations.

SHOULD KIDS LOVE TO LEARN?

All parents should want to inspire a love of learning in their children. Why? Because according to author Ben Dean in Learning About Learning in the Authentic Happiness Coaching newsletter, individuals who love learning are likely to:

bulletFeel positive when they have to learn new things.
bulletPersevere, despite difficulties and challenges.
bulletWork autonomously.
bulletBe filled with a sense of great possibilities.
bulletBe resourceful.
bulletFeel supported.

So what makes people take ownership of their own learning? Dean says that three things are essential:

bulletHaving a compelling, meaningful reason for doing the work.
bulletHaving options that make the task more meaningful.
bullet

Having social networks that support learning, so that individuals can fulfill social needs, too.
