Jordan/Jackson Quarterly News

SPRING 2010

NO PARKING IN THE YELLOW FIRE LANES.  Parking will be monitored by the Police and tickets will be given out for all illegally parked cars.  Please park in the two lots to the right and left of the school.

Cafeteria and recess monitors are needed to help with supervision during these times. If you are interested in working on an as-needed basis for two and a half-hours per day, see Assistant Principal Teresa Murphy for an application. This is a great opportunity for "stay-at-home" parents to work for a brief period of time and contribute to your child’s school while making a little extra money.

Test Taking Strategies     (Tips on answering multiple-choice questions)

bulletRead the question before you look at the answer.
bulletCome up with the answer in your head before looking at the possible answers, this way the choices given on the test won't therow you off or trick you.
bulletEliminate answers you know aren't right.
bulletRead all the choices before choosing your answer.
bulletIf there is no guessing penalty, always take an educated guess and select an answer.
bulletDon't keep on changing your answer; usually your first choice is the right one, unless you miss-read the question.
bulletIn "All of the above" and "None of the above" choices, if you are certain one of the statements is true don't choose "None of the above" or one of the statements are false don't choose "All of the above".
bulletIn a question with an "All of the above" choice, if you see that at least two correct statements, then "All of the above" is probably the answer.
bulletRead the directions carefully.
bulletRead through the test a second time and answer more difficult questions.  You may pick up cues for answers from the first reading, or become more comfortable in the testing situation.
bulletIf time allows, review both questions and answers.  It is possible you miss-read questions the first time.
