Aerodynamics

Aerodynamics image How does an airplane fly? How can air make automobiles waste fuel? How are wings used to prevent automobile skidding? These are the type of questions that aerodynamics engineers face.
At a time when safety and energy resource management is more important than ever, the answers to these questions will help us to use the materials in our environment more effectively.
An important tool used in aerodynamics technology is the wind tunnel. It lets designers accurately measure the performance of vehicle designs.
In this module you will use a real wind tunnel to discover answers to the questions above and more. You will construct models of vehicle shapes and different wing designs.By placing them in the wind tunnel, you will be able to measure performance of different shapes.
