Alternative Energy

Alternative Energy image The generation of energy is vital for society. Since the industrial revolution, the consumption of power has grown with increasing use of technology. Burning fossil fuels to generate energy has led to serious pollution problems. There is a big effort to use alternative energy sources to reduce levels of pollution. The common alternative energy sources include solar, wind, water and nuclear. These are considered alternative energy sources because they result in less pollution.
In this module, you will carry out experiments to discover the effects of acid rain.  You will see how burning fossil fuel causes pollution. You will launch a model rocket and build a solar powered car to see how energy can be transformed.  You can carry out experiments to simulate power generation from the wind, and research hydro electric power.
