Introduction to Lasers

Lasers image In this technology module, students will learn the basics about lasers. This begins with a history of the development of the laser, rules of laser safety, laser light characteristics and capabilities, the five classes of lasers.  Other assignments include laser theory, laser applications, and introduction to photonics. 
Throughout the module, students will get hands-on practice using a laser and laser receiver. Students will build a sophisticated laser alarm system to test their capabilities with the laser.
