Pneumatics image Last time you watched motor racing on TV you probably wondered how they manage to change all four tires in less than 10 seconds. The answer is pneumatics. Only a pneumatic power tool has the speed required to remove and refit the wheels in such a short time.
Pneumatics technology is a clean, cheap and easily controlled modern method of power transmission used in a wide range of industrial applications from packaging candy bars through bottle sorting to powered truck brakes.
This module will introduce you to pneumatics, the branch of fluid power that uses air as the power transmission medium. You will investigate how and why pneumatics is used and construct a number of working pneumatic machines.
