IMPORTANT INFORMATION

TO KNOW AT QMS

Parentlink:

Between the hours of 4 pm – 7 am the QMS "Parentlink" voicemail system is available. Parents who call the regular school telephone number (508) 261-7530 will get a "Parentlink" menu of numbers. This allows the caller to access each teacher’s homework information line or leave a message for staff. We encourage parents to use this system.

Telephones:

QMS has two pay telephones. One is near the main lobby. The other is outside the gym. Please carry change with you every day in case you need to make a call (50 cents to call home and 75 cents to a cell phone) . You might want to carry a phone calling card or call collect. CELL PHONES MAY NOT BE USED IN THE BUILDING.

Parents:

Please do not communicate with your child by means of a cell phone (including text messaging) during the school day. Students are not permitted to use their cell phones from 7:25 am – 1:50 pm. If there is an emergency and you must contact your child, please call the main office at 508-261-7530 and we will relay the message.

Hallway Doors:

All doors to the hallways are locked at 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Visitor Sign-In Policy:

The QMS Visitor Policy requires that all visitors MUST sign-in at the Main Office and obtain a QMS Visitor Badge. Your cooperation with this policy is greatly appreciated.

Classroom Interruptions:

We really try to have as few classroom interruptions as possible. If your child calls and needs you to bring something to school (i.e. lunch, homework), please tell your child you will drop it off in the office and to check for the item there.

Dismissals:

If you are going to be dismissed from school, you must bring a note to your homeroom teacher who will then send you to the office with it. This note must be written by your parent/guardian. At the time of your dismissal, you must report to the office to check out before leaving the building. In lieu of a note, you may also be dismissed if your parent/guardian comes into the office and signs you out.

Extended Absences:

If your child is going to be out of school for an extended period of time due to illness or other family obligations, please make sure the Team Liaison is aware. This will ensure a smooth transition when the child returns to school.

Bus Passes:

If you are a paying bus rider, you must have your official bus pass with you at all times. Laminating the pass is a good idea.

Bus Safety:

Riding the bus is an extension of the classroom. There is no eating or drinking allowed on the bus. All students must be seated and hands and feet must be kept out of the aisle. Musical instruments must fit under the seat. Failure to follow these bus policies could jeopardize your child’s right to ride the bus.

School Lunch Pre-Payment Program:

All students can participate in the school lunch pre-payment program. Just send in a check in any amount, made payable to the Mansfield Food Service. Please be sure to include your child's name and 4 digit PIN number on the check. The amount of the check will be entered into your child's account. The cafeteria staff will let your child know when the account is getting low.
