A Message from
Mansfield Public School’s Health Services:
The cold and flu season is upon us. We would like to remind you of some important ways to keep healthy and when to seek medical attention.
The best methods of disease prevention are simple:
1. Wash your hands often, especially after using the toilet or diapering a child, before eating and whenever in contact with any respiratory secretions.
2. Do not share drinks, food or any item that may be contaminated with another’s saliva.
3. Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or into your own elbow when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of tissues promptly after use and wash your hands well.
If you do become ill you should stay home until feeling better and fever free. We define a fever as >100 F. without the use of Tylenol or Motrin.
You should seek medical care if:
1. You are ill with a high fever longer than 48 hours.
2. Tylenol or Motrin can not reduce your fever.
3. You have a sore throat that hurts to swallow especially if not assoc. with cold symptoms. (Some physicians now recommend home strep tests so check with your doctor for availability and recommendations)

The
Mission is the ultimate goal of Invisible Children. It
is the resources, skills, and funds that hit the
ground in Uganda. These resources will provide health,
safety and education for the children of Northern
Uganda who are affected by this 20-year-long war. It
is our belief that we need to live for more, because
the invisible children need more to live.
