All MPS educators are responsible for maintaining their license. Employment is contingent upon:

1. receipt of a valid license for the position for which you have been appointed, and

2. maintaining a valid license, in accordance with State Law.

Educators maintain licensure through their ELAR account. It is very important for educators to be familiar with their ELAR account which stores demographic data, transcripts, license information and status, as well as other important documents that have been uploaded to your account such as correspondence from DESE, MTEL test scores, endorsements, etc.  

Plan accordingly when renewing or advancing a license. Expect at least a 2-3 week processing time during the months of May, June & July if you are advancing your license (Initial to Professional) or for new license applications.
