A Warm Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year

Dear Mansfield Families,

I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the summer season. I am honored to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of Mansfield Public Schools and to extend a warm welcome to you and your family as we prepare for the 2025–2026 school year.

From the moment I was introduced to Mansfield, I was drawn to its strong sense of community, pride in its schools, and deep commitment to students. Our district’s vision: “to inspire and empower active and engaged learners, citizens, innovators and communicators” is the cornerstone of the work that we will do as we plan for the future, and I am thrilled to join a team of dedicated educators and staff who are clearly passionate about making a difference in the lives of children.

As a lifelong educator, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and most recently, assistant superintendent. Through each of these roles, I’ve learned that schools flourish when students, families, educators, and community members work together in partnership. In Mansfield, I see the foundation for that partnership already in place, built on our shared core values of belonging, collaboration, curiosity, integrity, and resilience. These values will guide how we learn, how we lead, and how we support one another.

As I begin my new role as Superintendent, my focus this year is to listen and learn so that I can gain a deep understanding of what makes Mansfield such a special place, and to ensure that all voices are heard as we plan for the future together.

Over the next few months I will be visiting our schools, attending community events, and meeting with families and staff. I have set aside time to meet with community members who would like to connect and share their perspectives, so please feel free to reach out if you would ever like to meet with me.

As a parent myself, I know how much trust it takes to send your child to school each day. Please know that I take that responsibility to heart. My goal is to work in partnership with you to make sure every child in Mansfield feels a deep sense of belonging, is supported in their learning, and is prepared for a bright future.

You can expect to hear from me again later in August with updates on summer projects and preparations for the new school year. In the meantime, thank you for your continued support of Mansfield Public Schools. I look forward to meeting you, learning from you, and working together to build on the strengths of this incredible community.

Kind regards,
Dr. Michelle L. McKeon
Superintendent of Schools
